Who we are
Nejdecká česárna vlny, a.s. (Nejdek Wool Combing Plc. or NCV) is a member of the Modiano Group, one of the largest producers of wool tops in the world. The Company is located in Nejdek, Karlovy Vary region, Czech Republic.
NCV was established in 1995, although the woollen mill was first established on the site in 1846 with the introduction of a water turbine in the Rolava river. An important and modern textile plant was developed in 1910, with further modernization taking place between 1968 and 1974. Today NCV is one of the most modern wool scouring and combing mills in the world, consisting of 80,000 m2 of covered area and a capacity of 23 million kgs per annum, basis top & noil.
There are also two Superwash lines to apply Hercosett (shrink-resist) and Basolan (soft handle) treatments. Amongst other accreditations the mill has EU Flower, RWS, GOTS, and OEKO-TEX 100 certification and runs a state-of-the-art industrial effluent treatment plant.

Working for Modiano Group, one of the world's pre-eminent wool traders and processors is a key mission for Nejdecká česárna vlny, a.s.
The Company receives greasy wool from all over the world, particularly Australia, The Republic of South Africa, New Zealand, but also South America and Europe. Such raw wool is processed in scouring unit and dried. The wool, stored in bins, is ready for carding. The combing process follows, when finally, the wool tops and the noils are pressed into
more compact packaging. Some of the wool tops are treated based on end customer demands with technology of Hercosett (shrink-resist) or Basolan (soft handle).
The spinners, the producers of yarn, are the main customers with deliveries mainly to Europe but also around the world.
Buying your wool
NCV does not buy the wool itself. However, our traders are ready to buy the wool from all over the world.

Our products
NCV processes various types of greasy sheep wool and thus covers a wide range of individual types, yields and qualities, from 12 to 36 microns, in staple lengths from 50 to 100 HM. According to the customer's request, we will prepare a "tailor-made" wool tops. We can also cut tops from 25 to 150 mm.
At the customer's request, we produce wool tops refined with treatment of Hercosett – shrink-resist or Basolan – soft handle.
Our product range include noils and wool wastes (raw and carbonised) and wool grease (lanolin).
